Plastic packaging waste has reached record levels: over 140 million tonnes are produced annually, yet less than 9% is recycled. Reuse models offer one of the most powerful pathways to reduce waste upstream. According to the Breaking the Plastic Wave report by PEW, reuse-consumer models can reduce packaging mass by 65%, and reuse-new-delivery models by up to 88%, compared to single-use plastics.
But today, knowledge and tools are fragmented—making reuse hard to implement.
